Sri Lanka/Ceylon

Sri Lanka's documented history goes back 3,000 years, with evidence of prehistoric human settlements dating back 125,000 years. The earliest known Buddhist writings of Sri Lanka, known collectively as the Pāli canon, date back to the fourth Buddhist council, which took place in 29 BCE.

Sri Lanka is also known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Home to some of the most breathtaking beaches and picturesque mountain ranges, the Island is famous for its hospitable people and never ending, frequent festivities.

Hill Country

The 'Hill Country' or 'Up Country' are terms broadly used to describe the mountainous regions at the centre of Sri Lanka, which is the island at its most scenic; a mist-wrapped land of emerald peaks and stupendous views, of hillsides carpeted with tea plantations and graced by astonishing waterfalls..

Southern Coast

Home to some of the most beautiful palm- tree- lined beaches, surf breaks and best oceanfront hangouts found on the Island, the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka is worth a visit. Colonial heritage sites, nature reserves among other attractions also makes the South an exotic destination not to miss.

Suomi/Finland

Finland, also known as “the land of a thousand lakes” is a beautiful country situated in the northernmost part of Europe- Scandinavia. Surrounded by the Baltic Sea, inland lakes and rivers make up 10% of the country. Large areas of forest cover almost two thirds of the land mass and only 6% of the country is arable.

The only thing more amazing than the natural beauty of Finland is the warm nature of people once you get to know them.

Winter

In Finland, the winter months are December, January and February. The temperatures often dropping below zero degrees Celsius in winter and can fall to -20 degrees Celsius.

Although this gives rise to some of the most breath taking scenic views to embrace, winter days can be quite dark- darker in Northern Finland than in Southern Finland. In the northernmost part of Finland, the sun does not rise above the horizon for several weeks during winter “kaamos” period.

Summer

The summer months in Finland are June, July and August. The warmest month is often July. In Southern Finland, the average temperature in the summer is about 20°C while the temperature in the north is about 15°C.

Evenings and nights are bright in Finland during the summer, as the sun sets late and rises early. Then, Northern Finland has more daylight hours than Southern Finland.

Myanmar/Burma

Myanmar (formerly Burma) is a Southeast Asian nation of more than 100 ethnic groups, bordering India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. Yangon (formerly Rangoon), the country's largest city, is home to bustling markets, numerous parks and lakes, and the towering, gilded Shwedagon Pagoda, which contains Buddhist relics and dates to the 6th century.

Yangoon

Yangon (formerly known as Rangoon) is the largest city in Myanmar (formerly Burma). A mix of British colonial architecture, modern high-rises and gilded Buddhist pagodas define its skyline.
